Morning Game Drive – Murchison Falls Jeep Safari
Rise early for your very first safari drive — the perfect time to catch predators and other wildlife at their most active. The safari takes place in the area northwest of the Nile, where rolling green savannas are dotted with tall Borassus palms — a favorite snack for elephants.
Your guide will help you search for Rothschild’s giraffes, buffalo, lions, leopards, elephants, antelopes, and countless bird species. The sunrise paints the landscape in golden light, creating perfect photo opportunities. On your way toward the Nile Delta, you’ll stop to watch hundreds of hippos lazing in the water — a classic African scene.
Afternoon Boat Safari – The Nile Experience
In the afternoon, embark on a boat safari along the Nile River, one of the highlights of any visit to Murchison Falls. As you glide slowly along the water, you’ll spot hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and buffalo along the riverbanks, as well as monkeys and a variety of waterbirds.
This three-hour journey takes you all the way to the foot of the mighty Murchison Falls, where you can feel the spray and hear the thunder as the Nile crashes 40 meters down into the gorge. (Tip: Sit on the left side of the boat for the best views along the riverbank.)
Optional Upgrade – Private Boat Safari
For a more exclusive experience, you can book a private boat safari. This allows you to move at your own pace, get closer to wildlife, and enjoy the tranquility of the river with just your group — an intimate and unforgettable way to experience the Nile.
At the end of this action-packed day, return to your lodge to relax and listen to the sounds of the African night.

This morning, your guide will take you along different tracks, giving you the chance to discover new areas and see more of Murchison’s incredible wildlife. If you missed any of the “Big Five” or other predators on your first safari, this is another opportunity to find them. Each game drive offers something unique — no two safaris are ever the same!
Relaxation or Optional Adventure
Your afternoon is free to relax and enjoy your lodge, perhaps taking a dip in the swimming pool while listening to the sounds of the savanna.
For those who want to keep exploring, you can choose an optional boat safari to the Nile Delta. This experience takes you to where the Victoria Nile empties into Lake Albert, creating a lush wetland ecosystem. The delta is alive with wildlife — you might see bathing elephants, pods of hippos, Nile crocodiles, and an abundance of birdlife. It is a true paradise for birdwatchers, with species such as the saddle-billed stork, African giant kingfisher, and the rare, prehistoric-looking shoebill stork often spotted here.
If you choose this boat safari, it is best done early in the morning, and your game drive can be moved to the afternoon.
This day strikes a perfect balance between wildlife adventure and relaxation, letting you enjoy Murchison Falls at your own pace.

Optional Activities for a Truly Unique Experience
- Predator Tracking with a Biologist – Morning
Join a park biologist on a specialized safari to study lion prides and occasionally leopards. Using radio collars, the biologist ensures you encounter lions while explaining their behavior and movements. Leopard sightings are less predictable, but the experience of tracking predators off-road and learning from a scientist is unmatched. Proceeds support wildlife research in the park. - Kyambura Gorge Trekking
Take a guided trek through the stunning Kyambura Gorge, an 11-kilometer chasm running through the savannah. The gorge hides a tropical rainforest along the Kyambura River, home to chimpanzees, snakes, and other wildlife. While chimpanzee sightings are not guaranteed, the scenic hike itself is one of Uganda’s most beautiful, with some scrambling and climbing for the adventurous. - Private Boat Safari – Afternoon
Experience the Kazinga Channel on a private boat, which allows your group to move at your own pace and get closer to wildlife than on a large group vessel. This exclusive journey offers an intimate and unforgettable wildlife viewing experience.
This day offers flexibility and adventure, combining classic safaris with unique, optional experiences to make your Queen Elizabeth exploration truly unforgettable.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – Home of the Mountain Gorillas
Bwindi, together with the Virunga Mountains in Rwanda, forms the most important region for mountain gorilla trekking. Despite its relatively small size, the park is home to nearly half of the world’s wild mountain gorillas. Beyond gorillas, Bwindi shelters over 120 mammal species and 350 bird species, making it a biodiversity hotspot and a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts.

Accommodation: Orugano Bwindi Lodge
This morning, you’ll make your way to the Bwindi National Park headquarters for perhaps the highlight of your entire trip: gorilla trekking.
Accompanied by Uganda Wildlife Authority’s most experienced rangers, you’ll move carefully through the dense Bwindi rainforest. As you track the gorillas, signs of their presence — fresh dung, nests, gnawed bamboo, and broken twigs — will guide you closer.
Then comes the unforgettable moment: coming face-to-face with a silverback, the family’s protective leader. Watching him observe you calmly while surrounded by his family is an experience that stays with you for a lifetime, a true pinnacle of wildlife encounters.
Optional: Gorilla Habituation Experience
For a truly unique and immersive experience, you can choose a gorilla habituation day instead of the standard trek. This rare opportunity allows you to join researchers as they work to habituate a gorilla family. You’ll spend up to four hours with the gorillas, in a small group of just four participants. It’s an extraordinary chance to see gorilla behavior up close and gain insight into conservation efforts, offering a perspective that few ever experience.
This day combines adventure, wildlife, and unforgettable memories, making it the pinnacle of your Uganda safari.
Accommodation: Orugano Bwindi Lodge
This morning, you leave Bwindi, carrying unforgettable memories of your encounters with the mountain gorillas — protégés of Dian Fossey — and the awe-inspiring beauty and power of Central Africa’s forests.
Your journey continues along the scenic route connecting Rwanda, Kampala, and Kenya, taking you to Lake Mburo National Park, a charming gem in Uganda’s safari landscape.
Lake Mburo National Park – Uganda’s Smallest Safari Park

It is the only park in Uganda home to impalas and elands, while Lake Mburo itself supports hippos, crocodiles, and a rich variety of birds. Its intimate size allows for a unique and relaxed safari experience, where wildlife feels incredibly close and accessible.

For those seeking extra excitement, embark on a night safari just before dinner. Guided by experienced rangers, you’ll search for nocturnal animals such as galagos, hyenas, and even the elusive leopard. This thrilling experience offers a completely different perspective on the park, when the savannah comes alive under the stars.
